About the Job

The HR Associate will support day-to-day HR and coordination activities, including recruitment, pre-onboarding, offboarding, team communication, and record management. This remote and flexible unpaid internship/volunteer role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals at the beginning of their HR or nonprofit career to gain hands-on experience and grow professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment, including job postings, candidate sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.

  • Promote the organization’s mission to attract passionate candidates and build a strong employer brand.

  • Ensure a positive candidate experience with clear communication and timely follow-ups.

  • Support diversity and inclusion efforts by prioritizing equitable hiring practices.

  • Maintain organized records of candidates and recruitment activities.

  • Develop creative, low-cost recruitment strategies to align with the organization’s budget.

  • Build relationships with local communities and partners to expand talent pipelines.

  • Collaborate with leadership and hiring managers to understand staffing needs and priorities.

  • Other ad hoc tasks

Requirements

Candidates demonstrate:


• Academic background in human resources, communications, business administration, management, economics, or related fields or
• Experience with NGOs, political organisations, civic initiatives, or social movements


Additional qualities:


• Strong organisational and coordination skills
• Ability to work in an international remote team
• Interest in progressive political cooperation
